The youth national team of Montenegro achieved a third draw at the "Stevan Ćele Vilotić" Memorial - after Israel (0:0) and Serbia (1:1), Milorad Peković's team drew with Hungary (2:2).
With three points, Montenegro finished the tournament in third place, behind Israel and Hungary, and ahead of Serbia.
In the last match, our selection was within reach of victory, leading 2:0, but the Hungarians tied the score at 55:58 three minutes apart, in the 2th and 2th minutes.
"We played the best game in the tournament. We had the initiative from the beginning, we were compact, the players respected everything we agreed on. We created several chances, scored two goals, but also conceded two. In the end, we were not given a clear penalty, so that's why we're a little sad that we didn't win. But I have to be satisfied with my team's performances in the tournament, it's obvious that we've progressed. Of course, there's still room for improvement and we still have a lot of hard work ahead of us," coach Pekovic told the website. FSCG.
Montenegro started well, had Vlahović's post and several other good chances in the first half, and took the lead as soon as the second half started - Zaid Divanović hit the net in the 46th minute after an excellent action by Marko Rakonjec and Danilo Pešukić.
Just five minutes later, Rakonjac increased the score to 2:0 with a beautiful goal from twenty meters away, but then followed a period of better Hungarian play and goals from Tamas Kis in the 50th minute and Kristofer Seret from the penalty spot in the 58th minute.
In the 73rd and 75th minutes, Pešukić and Rakonjac missed very likely chances, while in the 79th, an obvious foul was not played on Petr Pavlićević in the Hungarian penalty area.
