Valdes is not moving to Monaco, the agent claims otherwise

Former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes will not continue his career in Monaco, the French club's vice-president Vadim Vasiliev said today.

The Spanish goalkeeper was supposed to join Monaco this summer, but it won't happen, as he failed to recover from a knee injury and failed a medical.

"Viktor is injured and he will not play in Monaco," Vasiljev said at the press conference, according to Spanish media.

Victor Valdes' manager, however, claims otherwise and says that the contract with Monaco was signed for four years and that it must be respected, despite Vasiliev's statement.

"We have a signed contract with Monaco for four years and we intend to respect it," said Valdes' manager Hines Carvajal to Spanish "Sport".

Abidal and Carvalho for another year in Monaco

Monaco footballers Eric Abidal and Ricardo Carvalho have today extended their contracts for another year, so they will stay at the French club until 2015.
