Media: Zidane replaces Ranieri in Monaco

Assistant coach of Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane could replace Claudio Ranieri on the bench of Monaco, the French media write today.

Monaco is currently second in the French championship table, but the media has been writing for some time now that the players are unhappy with the way Ranieri works.

If the Italian coach is sacked, Russian billionaire and Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev plans to contact the former French national team player.

Commenting on the allegations of the French team, UEFA president Michel Platini said that Zidane would be a good solution for Monaco.

"Appointing Zidane as coach of Monaco would be a good idea. He has been working with Carlo Ancelotti at Real for a year and I think he is ready to lead the team. Zidane has a name and he is smart. He will be a very good coach," Platini told Spanish AS .
