A group of former famous football players of Budućnost, gathered in the non-governmental organization "Volim Budućnost", issued a statement yesterday in which they draw attention to a lot of problems in the biggest Montenegrin club, but also appeal to the authorities to act urgently on several issues...
"In the previous period, a great deal of damage was done to the image and reputation that FK Budućnost enjoyed in the domestic and international sports public. FK Budućnost has not been functioning for years in the way a sustainable sports collective should function. The business and financial balances of the club are devastating. The club is in deep financial crisis. According to the available data, the club has not paid the statutory contributions to the PIO Fund for many years, and at the moment the club's debt on this basis amounts to more than 500.000 euros. Due to non-fulfillment of financial obligations, the club did not have the right to participate in European competitions in the previous season, and as things stand now, that fate awaits FC Budućnost this year as well."
The legends of the "Blues" believe that the club's management, led by the President of the Assembly Miomir Mugoš, is responsible for everything.
"We believe that the time has come to open numerous issues and review the decisions that caused damage to the club, as well as to determine individual responsibility for the omissions that threatened the functioning of FK Budućnost"
NGO Volim Budućnost initiated two court proceedings before the Commercial Court in Podgorica.
"We are seeking the annulment of the Decision by which the administration authorities, during the year 2000, donated the Stadium FC Budućnost to the capital city. We are convinced that this decision was made with numerous omissions and possible abuses, beyond the procedure provided for by the law and normative acts of the club, so it is absolutely null and void as such".
"Compulsory execution of the decision on the transfer of eight percent of the ownership share to former football players and employees is also sought. We believe that the obstruction in the implementation of this decision aims to exclude former footballers and employees from the process of managing the club and that the decision-making process in the club will continue to be hidden from the eyes of the public".
"As representatives of generations of footballers and former employees who proudly carried the name of FK Budućnost all over the world, we feel obliged to launch as many initiatives as possible that will contribute to the club's exit from the crisis," says the statement signed by former Budućnost footballer Dragan Vujović.
"We believe that the time has come to open up a number of issues and review the decisions that have caused damage to the club," the statement reads.
