According to the Dutch "Telegraph", Belgian national team member Toby Aldervereld is on the verge of a transfer from Ajax to Atletico Madrid.
It is reported that the 24-year-old stopper, who arrived at Ajax from Germinal Bershot as a 15-year-old, will soon sign a four-year contract with the King's Cup winner.
The price that the "Kolćoneros" will pay to Ajax is not yet known, considering that Atlético first offered 4,5 million, and the "Spearers" asked for seven.
Atlético, however, overtook Liverpool and Manchester City in the race for the services of the excellent defender, who last season played 33 out of a possible 34 games in the Dutch championship.
Aldervereld will thus become the second important Ajax player to leave Amsterdam in just a few days. On Thursday, it was done by Danish Christian Eriksen, who strengthened Tottenham.
