Bucharest Rapid players are on strike from today due to unpaid wages.
If something does not change, as announced, the players will not play on Saturday against Vitorul from Konstanz.
Local media reported that Rapid football players have been receiving only ten percent of their salary for months.
"We will not train and we will not play the next match," Rapid captain Danijel Panku said.
On Sunday, Rapid drew with Steaua - 1:1 in a match that was interrupted in the second half due to fan disturbances.
Earlier this month, Rapid players already expressed their displeasure in a match against Gloria Bistrica by displaying a banner asking for help from the Romanian football authorities.
The three-time champions of Romania were on the verge of bankruptcy in December due to huge debts.
Regardless of the financial problems, Rapid is playing well and has conceded only one goal in the last five games.
Rapid is seventh in the table with 38 points from 26 matches, 26 less than the leading Steaua.
