Deep in the shadow of the World Cup in Russia, two very important matches are being played for placement in two of the five strongest leagues in the world.
The players and fans of Frosinone and Valladolid celebrated in the play-off finals for placement in Serie A, i.e. Primera.
Frosinone, which magically missed out on direct promotion in the last round (when Parma entered Serie A) with a goal by a disinterested Foja in the 89th minute, 2:2, defeated Palermo 2:0 in the second leg of the playoff final.
After the Sicilians won 2:1 at home, tonight the "Canaries" celebrated at home with goals from Rafael Majel in the 52nd minute and Kamil Ćan in the 96th minute.
With this, they won the second season in Serie A, in which they played only in the competition year 2015/2016.

Admittedly, Palermo was damaged, because with the score 1:0, the referee Federico la Pena first judged a foul on the edge of the penalty area against Coronado, then pointed to the penalty, and then returned the free kick. And the contact was inside the penalty area...
It was not so exciting in Spain, because Valladolid defeated Numancia in Soria with 3:0 in the first match. At "Sorilja" it was 1:1 tonight.
Manu del Moral gave the visitors the lead in the 87th minute, and Jaime Mata took care of the home team's draw before the big party in the third minute of stoppage time.
"Purple and White" will thus play their 42nd season in Primera, in which their greatest success was 4th place in 1963.
