Italian media reported today that the late Livorno footballer Piermario Morozini died of hereditary heart disease.
On April 14, 2012, he fainted during an Italian Serie B match between Pescara and Livorno.
The first results of the autopsy were not precise enough, and further tests were performed on the tissue samples of the soccer player who died at the age of 25.
As the Ansa agency reports, forensic tests showed that Morozini died of arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy.
This disease, which can cause the sudden death of young people, is a disorder of the heart muscle that is gradually covered by scars and fat.
