Atletico Madrid football player, Brazilian Diego, will not play for a month due to an injury to his right leg, the Spanish club announced today.
The midfielder injured a muscle in the match with Sporting Gijon, which ended 1:1.
"The worst consequence of the injury is not physical but mental because I have to leave the team," said Diego.
The former Wolfsburg and Juventus player has played a big role in the team's good performances since the arrival of the new Argentine coach Diego Simeone.
Atletico are undefeated in eight games since Simeone took charge of the team.
Diego will miss Thursday's Europa League clash with Lazio as well as the league games against Barcelona and Sevilla.
