The defender of the Czech Pilsen, David Bistron, failed the doping test after the match against BATE Borisov, which was played on November 23 in the Champions League.
Bistron was tested after the victory that allowed his team to continue the competition in the Europa League, and the Czech club did not want to comment much on this case. At least until the B sample is analyzed...
"We hope that this case will not affect the result of the match against BATE. Penalties for the club would have been possible if more players had failed the test, and like this... The B sample has yet to be analyzed, and considering what is Bistron's character and reputation, we have no reason to doubt his word," said the Czech champion's spokesperson.
By the way, Bistron was also one of the scorers against Milan in the last round of the Champions League - that match in the Czech Republic ended without a winner (2:2), even though the Rossoneri were leading 2:0.
This 29-year-old stopper started his career in Banjik from Ostrava, with whom he was the champion of the Czech Republic in 2004, and he has been a member of Pilsen since 2009, when he arrived from Bulgarian Levski.
And if the B sample is also positive, the minimum penalty awaiting Bistron is a two-year suspension.
