Atletico Madrid coach Gregorio Manzano is about to terminate his contract with the club, Spanish media reported today.
His manager Manuel García Quilon visited the club's leaders today to agree on the termination of cooperation.
"We have been invited to consider a possible termination of the contract. We have expressed our position and now it is up to them to make a decision," said Kuilon.
According to him, the final decision should be known later today.
Atletico Madrid were eliminated from the Copa del Rey on Wednesday after losing 0-1 to third-tier Albacete.
The club is currently in 10th place in the Spanish league with only four points more than the teams from the relegation zone.
