The new Japanese champion Kashiwa will play in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup against Brazilian Santos.
In today's semifinal, Kashiva defeated (5:4) Mexico's Monterrey after a better penalty shootout.
The Japanese team, which was better during most of the match, took the lead with a goal by Brazilian international Leandro Dominguez in the 53rd minute.
However, the advantage lasted only five minutes, as the experienced Chilean Umberto Suazo checked Takanori Sugen.
Dominguez, Jorge Wagner, Riochi Kurisawa and Riohe Hayashi scored from the penalty spot for Nelsinja Baptista.
Suazo, Walter Iovi, Jonathan Orozco and Cesar Delgao were accurate for Monterrey.
The key was the mistake of the captain of the Mexican team, 30-year-old Luis Ernesto Perez in the first series.
Monterrey will have to fight Esperance on Wednesday for fifth place.
The duel between Kashiva and Santos will be played on Thursday.
