Mirko Ivanić has no dilemma - if the Montenegrin national football team wants to be in the game for qualifying for the European Championship, then victory against Kosovo is a given.
Montenegro and Kosovo will meet on Friday near Gorica in the 3rd round of Group A qualification for the Euro.
"It is definitely one of the most important games in this cycle. Maybe even crucial - with three points, we might be closer to the second place we dream of and which is our goal. Victory is the priority," said the midfielder of the "Brave Falcons".
Kosovo has respect, it earned it through the League of Nations, but also at the start of the qualifiers.
"It is a serious team. However, we will be ready for anything, we are the hosts and we consider everything but victory a failure," adds Ivanić.
Without the audience under Gorica, nothing will be the same - even the Red Star football player knows that.
"For us, the crowd, the fans are great and it's a shame that they won't be there. But, even so, we must not run away from our responsibility and if we want to qualify, and we want to, then we have to win this match," Ivanić points out.
How to win?
"It is difficult for us to win if we retreat. Of course we will attack, and it is up to the coaching staff to decide in what way".
There will be no Stefan Savić and Stevan Jovetić...
"Savić was there, Jovetić is gone for a long time, so we have no right to complain, although we will miss him a lot. We have to take responsibility," Ivanić concluded.
