Football club Atletico Madrid could be fined after its fans shouted threatening slogans at the club's former player, now Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann, during a league match.
The Spanish league said today that its anti-violence commission would look into the case after Atletico fans chanted "Die Griezmann" during Sunday's game in Madrid.
About 2.000 of Atlético's most ardent fans shouted "Death to Griezmann" in the seventh minute of the game, and they repeated the same slogan in the second half. At the end of last season, Griezmann moved from Atlético to Barcelona for more than 120 million euros. He was booed by the fans almost every time he had the ball during the game.
It was Griezmann's first game at the Wanda Metropolitano since leaving Atletico.
Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 on Sunday, with a goal from Lionel Messi in the 86th minute.
