Liverpool - are there limits, Southampton threatened and received four, "Reds" at +22

After 25 rounds, Liverpool has 22 points more than Manchester City, who play their match of this round tomorrow away against Tottenham.

Even the birds on the branch know that the "Reds" will win the title, the first since 1990, so it's just a question of how long the series will last and whether there are any limits to the team that has been winning for eight months.

With the triumph over Southampton (4:0), Jurgen Klopp's team achieved their 16th consecutive victory in the Premier League, 24th overall in 25 rounds, with only one draw.

No one in the five strongest European leagues has ever had such a record - it's only the first day of February, and Salah and company have already collected 73 points.

With their 16th straight triumph, they came close to Manchester City's record from 2018 (18), and with their 42nd consecutive Premier League unbeaten run, they equaled Nottingham Forest's performance in second place in 1978.

In front of Liverpool, in that category, they are now only the "invincibles" - Arsene Wenger's generation of Arsenal from 2004, which tied 49 games without defeat. The "Reds" are going for that record as well...

So much for records, and about the game - Southampton put up an excellent resistance at "Anfield" in the first half, could have taken the lead, or at least scored a goal, but conceded four pieces later on.

The home team was "unblocked" by Oxlade-Chamberlain, as soon as the resumption began, with a clever shot from the edge of the penalty area after Robertson and Firmino played with their heels.

Firmino was the assistant for the second goal as well, and Henderson, who then participated in the second of Mohamed Salah's two goals, was the scorer.

It was, therefore, thick in the first half - in the end a convincing triumph of the team from the city of the Beatles and the continuation of the march towards the long-awaited title.

Two miraculous turnarounds were seen in the sub-term.

Everton visited Watford, and was losing 2:0, and then equalized in extra time of the first half - Colombian Santi Mina scored goals with his head in the first and fourth minutes of extra time.

That was not all, the visitors were numerically weakened from the 71st minute, due to Fabian Delph's second yellow card, and then with ten men they achieved a complete turnaround. It leaked in the 90th minute when Theo Walcott brought all three points to Carlo Ancelotti's team.

In a very important match for survival, West Ham led against Brighton 3:1, and then the guests from the south grabbed a point with goals from Gross in the 75th minute and Murray in the 79th minute.

The Hammers, led by David Moyes, are now in the relegation zone - they were overtaken by Bournemouth, who beat Aston Villa 2:1 at home.

The European dream was continued by Sheffield United, who are again 5th in the table after winning against Crystal Palace in London - 1:0, with Guaita's own goal in the 58th minute.

In the premier match of the 25th round, one of the derbies, Leicester and Chelsea drew 2:2 today.
