Igor Jovićević, son of the recently deceased native of Cetinje and football legend Cedo Jovićević, will take over Dinamo Zagreb after Nenad Bjelica definitely leaves the club.
Mirosav Ćiro Blažević commented on Rokadu on the "blue" bench and gave the young coach a boost:
"I am very sorry that Čedo Jovićević, Igor's father, died. He was my player," Ćiro told Sportske Novosti and continued:
"Igor is a complete hit. The tendency of every club is to get younger, in the playing and coaching staff. Jovićević worked perfectly in the younger categories, so there really couldn't have been a more ideal man on Dinamo's bench. Because this is a time of shortages, there won't be any more big purchases, the time of creation follows, and Jovićević is a coach who creates. Jovićević has the necessary psychological quality to lead a young team, which Dinamo will have to rely on," says Blažević.
And is it possible for coaches to work independently in Dinamo...
"If he is not ready to be independent, then I tell him not to take the job".
Another legend was added - Oto Barić.
"If I were a young coach like Igor Jovićević, I wouldn't take over Dinamo in this situation," says Barić.
"For him to be independent? That is practically impossible. Zoran Mamić is the head of the profession at Dinamo, with whom I am good and whom I wish a lot of success. However, he certainly talks differently to Bjelica than to Jovićević. Why? Well, you see, Jovićević is his choice , he came from a young team, and when that's the case, then you still talk to such coaches differently. That's why I doubt that Jovićević will be completely independent in leading the team. I love Dinamo, I wish him success, but I think that this with Bjelica had to another way to play out and I believe that he would have agreed to the financial conditions if the method of communication had been different," Barić concluded.
Bjelica is about to be fired after the coaching staff and players refused to reduce their salary due to the coronavirus pandemic.
