The Ukrainian Premier League club Karpati has threatened the first team player Alexey Hakhlov with severe punishment in case he damages the reputation of the club again.
All Hahlov's transgression consisted in a photo with a red scarf on which a portrait of Lenin was painted, and an inscription on Instagram, with which he congratulated his grandmother on his birthday
"The Karpati football club considers it unacceptable to publish photos of the club's players posing against a background with foreign symbols. Hahlov allowed himself an unworthy act, for which he was warned and informed of drastic punishment in case he repeats the act. The football player is a public figure, so there is no the right not even on social networks to damage the reputation of the club. Karpati will also inform players of all ages that such actions are unacceptable," informed Karpati, while apologizing to the fans for the player's actions.
Midfielder Hahlov, recognized for his patriotic views, admitted his guilt:
"There are appropriate and inappropriate jokes. My last published photo is in the inappropriate category and I apologize to everyone who felt offended," Hahlov apologized.
