A Montenegrin lifted the first cup in Europe in the era of the corona crisis

The first trophy in the era of the corona virus pandemic was lifted by Montenegrin stopper Boris Kopitović.

He was an actor in the final of the Cup of Belarus, in which his BATE Borisov defeated the current champion, Dinamo Brest 1:0 in the last seconds of overtime.

Interesting and dynamic football was watched at the neutral Dinamo stadium in Minsk with 25% of the spectators in the stands.

BATE, which in the last round of the Higher League easily won 3:1 away from home in Brest, tried to keep the ball in the Cup final as well. However, Brest was incomparably more dangerous compared to the championship game in which four first team players rested for the Cup.

Kopitović entered the game in the 42nd minute, and from the 80th the period of the best game began. Then the Serbian international Filipović missed a good opportunity with his head, so that in the last minute of the regular part, the reserve Laptjov had a colossal chance, but it was Kopitović who slipped and shortened the space for a shot, so the ball flew past the right post.

At the very start of extra time, Dinamo had a crossbar after a free kick by Savicki from 17 meters, and Brest goalkeeper Ignatovic saved the goal with a great intervention in the next attack after a shot by Skaviš.

Just when it was thought that the winner would be decided by penalties, there was a crowd in front of the Brest goal, Kopitović managed to reach the ball but was blocked. The ball bounced off Volkov's leg for the BATE Borisov cup.

Kopitović has been in BATE Borisov since the beginning of this season. His club won the Cup for the fourth time. This is Dinamo Brest's third Cup final against BATE Borisov, having won the previous two.
