Premier League footballers will soon be allowed to have close contacts and training sessions where they will be able to have a greater competitive charge.
The UK government has released guidelines for professional athletes to phase back into serious training, and on Wednesday the Premier League will vote on close contact training.
Health Ministry officials and sports doctors have been given guidelines that allow competition and close-contact training, but under strictly controlled medical conditions. This is the second phase of government protocols, and the third should bring a return to the fields in June.
"Phase two is described as establishing close contact where training is done in pairs, small groups and/or teams that can have much closer contact (e.g. sparring in martial arts, sliding in football...)," the Government's guidelines state.
The Premier League is scheduled to resume on June 12.
