Buducnost ended Sutjeska's two-year dominance in style, although there are still 10 rounds left until the end of the Telekom First Montenegrin League, it is clear that the advantage of 18 points cannot be threatened.
The leader confirmed his strength in a direct duel, he celebrated two nights ago under Gorica 2:0 in a match that illustrated the current difference in quality - the people of Nikšić were powerless regardless of the fact that they had more players on the field for almost 70 minutes.
Their fate was sealed by Miloš Raičković with a goal that is a rarity in the world, and he became a frequent occurrence on Montenegrin grounds - he was a shooter from almost 50 meters...
- I thought from the first minute that I would try to lob the goalkeeper from a long distance if I had the chance. However, it is difficult to plan, because everything depends on the space you have, the position of your body, where your opponent is... Everything was set up, I kicked and it turned out perfectly - Raičković points out.
Nikšić's goalkeeper Vladan Giljen is the "victim" of inspiration from opposing players for the second time this season. Before Raičković, he was checked by Balša Sekulić in the match between Podgorica and Sutjeska on November 2 last year.
- In a way, we "felt" Giljen, who often leaves the goal line. You can't predict such hits, they just happen - says Raičković.
His bravura only brightened the night for footballers and fans of Buducnosti. And even if it hadn't been there, the impression of dominance wouldn't have changed.
- We have proven that we are better, we have also proven that the difference in the table is not accidental, because we have been playing consistently and winning continuously for a long time. The advantage of 18 points does not mean that we have better individuals than Sutjeska, which is also very strong, but it confirms that we are the right team all this time - the 26-year-old midfielder says.
The great motivation of the leader was also obvious, because in the first half hour everything on the field was bursting. Panajotis Moraitis gave the lead, and after that, Petar Grbić's nervousness caused him to be sent off.
- We wanted to prove that we are better as the table says. Sutjeska defeated us in the first part of the season in Podgorica, and before this derby we had 15 points more. We didn't want to allow our biggest rival to beat us a second time, it wouldn't be pleasant for us, no matter how much the table situation speaks in our favor. I'm sorry that we didn't stay with 11 players, because our victory would certainly have been more convincing. But maybe it's more effective this way - we dominated with one less player, the victory was not in question, it could even have been with more goals.
The future is reaching for the cup, but it doesn't want to relax.
- We have a great atmosphere in the club and in the dressing room, it can be seen on the field and we all want Buducnost to keep winning. We don't want to relax, although I also believe that there will be room for some younger players to get a chance, to prepare for what awaits them next season when there will have to be at least two of them on the field at every moment - concluded Raičković, an indispensable member starting line-up with Mladen Milinković.
- I am satisfied with the parties, I believe that they are satisfied in the club. With the new coach, I play all the time, I enjoy being on the field - Raičković concluded.
The next goal - a double crown
The title is practically a done deal, and the dream is - a double crown. Buducnost reached the semi-finals of the Cup, together with Sutjeska, Podgorica and Petrovac, and is definitely the favorite for the cup.
- We have a chance to become the first generation of Buducnost to win the double crown, we don't need a bigger motive than that. The semi-final is only at the end of July, there is time to think about it, but the ambitions do not change. We are the best in Montenegro, we want to round it off by winning both trophies. We are close to the first, we are hoping for the second - says Raičković.
Buducnost fans, however, are always looking for something more. European competitions will soon follow, the "blues" are certainly waiting for qualification for the Champions League. Can Buducnost make a breakthrough here?
- I see that people are already talking about how everyone can't wait to see us in European matches. We can't wait either, but we have to go in order. The time will come to think about the qualifications, first to finish this season in the right way.
Nikšić was a turning point
On the first of December last year, Budućnost defeated Sutjeska in Nikšić. Even then it was 2:0 (goals by Igor Ivanović and Dušan Stoiljković), and after that derby, the "blues" took first place with a point more and a game less... It was an announcement of championship ambitions.
- Anyone who remembers, knows that we dominated in that match too - led 1:0 for a long time, missed shots and only solved the dilemma in the finish. And that derby was a turning point, because everything happened right after we changed the coach. After that victory, we realized that we are the right team, I also believe that in that duel we slightly disturbed the confidence of Sutjeska, who deservedly won the title two years before that - said Raičković, whose team recorded its last defeat in the CFL on November 2, 2019. from Zeta on Trešnjica.
