Several football players of the Swiss first division Zurich are infected with the coronavirus, which is why the participation of that club in the continuation of the championship is questionable.
On Friday, it was announced that defender Mirlind Krijezijuu tested positive, and on Saturday, new cases were confirmed both among the players and in the coaching staff, so the entire team will have to be quarantined until July 17.
"We are in constant communication with the Swiss league and will analyze the next steps. We cannot give any further information at the moment," Zürich announced.
Seven rounds before the end of the championship, Zurich is in fifth position in the table, and had to postpone the games against Sion on Saturday and Basel on Tuesday.
Parma also reported a positive case, but no football player was infected.
The club informed that the players are in isolation, and that they will play against Bologna on Sunday.
