England coach Gareth Southgate has announced the squad for the Nations League matches against Iceland and Denmark, and there are a few surprises in it.
Southampton striker Danny Ings is back after almost five years, and the new face is Leeds United midfielder 24-year-old Calvin Phillips.
Phillips is the first Leeds player to be called up to the national team since Alan Smith in 2004.
"He's a player we've followed a lot over the last 12 months. We need competition in that position and this is a big moment for Calvin. I know he's proud, as are his family and the club he represents," Southgate said.
