Former Real Madrid and Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini did not hide his surprise at the way Ronald Koeman, who recently took over Barcelona, treated Luis Suarez.
The Dutchman allegedly told the Uruguayan in a short phone conversation not to count on him.
"Koeman showed a lack of respect for Suarez. I heard the phone call lasted 60 seconds," Pellegrini said.
"During my career, I crossed out some players several times, but not over the phone. The coach has to say everything to the face when he talks to the players," Pellegrini pointed out.
Suarez joined Barca in 2014 from Liverpool and has won 13 trophies to date, including the 2015 Champions League.
