On the penultimate day of August, on the eve of the first of three breaks this year due to national team obligations, Budućnost experienced the heaviest defeat in the club's recent history at the "DG Arena", the heaviest in independent Montenegro - 4:0 against Podgorica.
Only the third round was played and Mladen Milinković's team had two defeats (the first against Dečić in the 1st round) as a sign of an uncertain season. However, only two months, or nine rounds later, the champion stabilized - he connected seven games in which he achieved six wins and one draw, took over the first position with a game less, created all the preconditions for his rival from the suburbs, who after a violent start has slowed down lately (two consecutive defeats, three in the last four matches), serves - rematch.
MILINKOVIĆ: WE ARE NOT THINKING REVENGE, 1:0 IS POSSIBLE
However, the result from the first match and the lesson at the "DG Arena" will not be what the leader will draw the main motivation from before today's game, coach Milinković said.
Bubućnost's main goal is to continue the successful series, to win three points and to further consolidate the first place.
- We didn't play badly then, as much as we were punished for every mistake. Of course, none of us is satisfied with that result, but I'm not entering the game with revenge. It is enough to be 1:0, to register three new points, because this is a competition, and in the competition it is important to win - said Milinković at the press conference yesterday.
All matches of the 12th round of the Telekom 1. CFL are played today, in four different times, and the derby under Gorica starts at 16 p.m.
- Podgorica will certainly try to get back on track after two defeats, but it is up to us to be as concentrated, disciplined and patient as possible... The opponent has a lot of quality players in their ranks led by Šaleta Kordić, who is in terrible shape, but I know that my players can celebrate and I hope that they will have the motivation to continue the good series - added coach Budućnosti, who is again not counting on the injured Petr Grbić and Vasilij Terzić, along with the longer absent Nemanja Sekulić and Petr Vukčević.
- We have to be maximally focused and concentrated, and it is certain that we will have additional motivation due to the convincing defeat at the beginning of the season. I expect us to play well and win - said Miloš Raicković, midfielder of the "Blues".
Podgorica was the leader for a long time, but in the two previous rounds it suffered defeats from the two last-placed teams - OFK Titograd and Petrovac.
- This is not the best moment for us, especially when you have to host Buducnosti, but playing against them is always a challenge. We want to get back into the rhythm, to show our true face again against Budućnost, a team that has quality - said Podgorica coach Milorad Peković. Second-placed Dečić, the only team that has not yet known what it's like to be defeated after 12 rounds, hosts Jezera on a neutral ground in Berane (14 p.m.).
RADOJIČIĆ: FOR RETURN TO LIFE
Fourth-placed Sutjeska plays in Danilovgrad against Iskra (17 p.m.) and wants to atone for Saturday's defeat in the derby, against a team that is not blooming roses this season - Aleksandar Nedović's team is only in 7th place, with a point more than the play-off zone , and in the last five rounds he experienced three defeats.
- Iskra entered the championship with the highest possible ambitions, but they didn't achieve the results they expected, just like us, so we have a game to come back to life. We have to do it as soon as possible, but it is no longer a promise - enough talk, enough of everything, the only promise is the field, we have to talk about it, because it is disappointing that after 11 rounds we have 16 points - said coach Sutjeska Dragan Radojičić.
Sutjeska was defeated both times in Danilovgrad last season.
Rudar welcomes Zeta in Pljevlja (14:15 p.m.), while at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. under Mali Brdo, a derby will be played - Petrovac has a chance to escape from the last place if the second-to-last OFK Titograd wins.
Already on Sunday, the 13th round matches are scheduled, and then there will be a 14-day break due to the dates reserved for the national teams.
