Albania will play in the UB group of the next edition of the League of Nations.
The team led by Italian coach Edi Reja beat direct rival Belarus 3:2 at home and won first place in Group 4.
The Albanians took a 2:0 lead, thanks to the goals of the Turkish Konjapor striker Sokol Cikaleši, only to be reduced by Maksim Skaviš in the 35th minute.
Ray Manaj, a member of Barcelona B, made it 3:1 by halftime, and Max Ebong scored ten minutes before the end to make it 3:2.
However, the guests could not equalize and get a point that would be enough for them to be promoted to a higher rank.
Albania won 11 points as the winner of the group, which means that Montenegro will be one of the two most successful selections from League C, and therefore a candidate to qualify for the playoffs in the complicated system of the competition to go to the 2022 World Cup.
Kazakhstan is going to League D from this group, because it lost against Lithuania 2:1 at home.
The Kazakhs needed a win to stay in League C.
