The Italian High Court confirmed the sentence for the former Brazilian football ace Robinho of nine years in prison for his participation in the rape of a girl from Albania in a Milan nightclub in January 2013.
Robinjo was sentenced in November 2017, his lawyers filed a 68-page appeal, which the court rejected today.
According to that verdict, Robinjo and five of his friends committed the crime in the toilet of the "Sio Kafe" club.
Robinho, however, will probably not have to serve the sentence, because the Brazilian Constitution does not allow the extradition of Brazilian citizens to other countries, except in special cases, such as murders or drug trafficking, but with the prior permission of the Constitutional Court.
He recently returned to Brazil from Turkey, where he played for Istanbul Basaksehir.
He signed a contract with Santos, but a day later the contract was terminated due to the protests of fans and sponsors, precisely because of the court case that was being held in Italy...
