Dečić only lacks more competition in the team

In the season of the most exciting games in the history of Budućnost, which reached the autumn title with a record 49 points, only Dečić resisted the current champion. Tuzani have a record of a win, a draw, and then a loss in games against the leaders, and they finished the half-season in second place and with the well-deserved epithet of the most pleasant surprise in the league.

Until the 16th round, Dečić was even the only undefeated team, and then Podgorica was better 3:0, then Budućnost - 4:0. Edis Mulalić's team collected 31 points, one more than Sutjeska.

- Those two defeats showed the only problem of our team. That is the "depth" of the composition. The first defeat came after two tough games with Sutjeska in four days, but the future is a story in itself. The best team in the league. In any case, all of us in the club have reason to be proud, because no one expected, not even dreamed of such results and position, the best in the history of the club. From the start, the players managed to create positive energy, some good chemistry. And with me, I must admit. Admittedly, I only had equal criteria. It's a game for those who deserve it by work, effort and shown on the field. There were no exceptions. Although, unlike Budućnosti, Sutjska and Iskra, Dečić does not have the possibility of a large selection of players - said Mulalić.

As the winner of the Second League, Dečić returned to the elite competition and proved to be an equal rival to everyone. And more than that...

- I can't remember a team from the Second League having such a good start and result in the half-season. I think only Čelik has made such a result since 2006 and I am really proud of the players. I'm kind of glad, because I see the enthusiasm of everyone in the club, because their efforts and investments were not in vain, I'm a local in Dečić and Tuzi, while the players, until yesterday in the Second League, certainly didn't even dream that it was happening to them in the spotlight. It's a new experience, which we had to go through and have to go through, because spring is always harder, harder and more demanding. We have strengthened ourselves with two or three players for the First League, and it is noticeable that we need quality reinforcements in every position, except for the goalkeeper position. That one is filled. We know that it is difficult to find quality players in the winter, but in any position it would mean a lot to us. It is best when you have two great footballers per position, then the competition is an additional incentive for better work and progress. Reinforcements do not mean that someone would take away the bread from the existing staff, because their merits must be taken into account, but they would have an alternative and greater opportunities.

Have the goals of the club changed with the great editions and results?

- Ask me that when we collect 43 or 44 points, which means safe survival. We will go as before - from game to game, to give the most. We are not setting goals now, but we have the desire. That is to avoid Budućnost in the draw for the semi-finals of the Cup. I don't accept that football is a science, because in my opinion, good work is immediately visible, as is a player who knows how to play balls. And in my opinion, our biggest result was the elimination of Sutjeska for placement in the semi-finals. Kudos to the players for that, and if we're lucky enough to draw Iskra or Zeta, I'm sure that with maximum fighting play and commitment, we have a chance to win a place in the finals. Especially since the semi-finals will be played in two games.

When does Dečić start preparing for the second part of the season?

- In my opinion, very fast. Already on January 10, which I think is too little rest. The players should have had at least ten more days to rest, and I wanted to go home, because I hadn't been in Sarajevo for half a year. However, somehow it is easier and nicer to rest after exceeded plans and hopes, so it is also easier for the management to work with a smile on looking for adequate reinforcements - concluded Mulalić.
