The football club Milan will not punish its player Zlatan Ibrahimovic regarding the incident in the match against Inter in the Cup, Italian media reported today.
Corriere della Sera reported that Ibrahimovic and Inter player Romelu Lukaku are awaiting the decision of the disciplinary judge due to a clash during Tuesday's Coppa Italia quarter-final match.
Former Manchester United teammates feud continued even after the referee's whistle at halftime, and teammates had to stop the Belgian, who was visibly furious. Ibrahimović received a second yellow card and dismissal later in the second half.
Milan representatives denied allegations of racism in Ibrahimović's statements. Ibrahimović said that he is aware that he made a mistake, but that he is not racist.
"There is no place for racism in Zlatan's world. We are all one race - we are all equal. We are all players, some are better than others," Ibrahimovic wrote on Twitter.
Inter beat Milan 2:1, with Christian Eriksen's goal.
