Exactly 16 days after the big derby in Serie A, Inter and Juventus will compete in the semi-finals of the Italian Cup.
On January 17, the Nerazzurri beat the current champion at Giuseppe Meazza and won 2:0 with goals from Arturo Vidal and Nicol Barela, but tonight the stakes are a little lower, as the second leg will be played next Tuesday in Turin.
- We have 180 minutes in which it will be difficult in every way. We know the strength of Juve - said Antonio Conte.
Inter's strength is not the same before this match, in which Romelu Lukaku and Ashraf Hakimi will not be suspended, but Conte is not worried:
- He will be forced to rest before the league match at the weekend. Nothing changes in our concept, Alexis Sanchez will play - Conte added.
The derby of Italy in Serie A showed the strength of Inter and the limits of Juve...
- Juve was hurt by that defeat and comes very motivated. These are matches in which every mistake is paid dearly, but whatever the epilogue is, the decision will be made in the second leg - emphasized the "Nerazura" coach.
After that defeat against Inter, Juve defeated Napoli in the fight for the trophy in the Super Cup, and then were better than Bologna and Sampdoria in the championship.
- That game sent us a clear message and showed that we always have to behave like Juventus. Inter taught us a lesson and now I want to see a team on the field that is aware of its possibilities - said Andrea Pirlo.
Juve is the record holder in the Cup with 13 trophies (the last in 2018), while Inter won seven times, the last one 10 years ago. The second semi-final pair consists of Napoli and Atalanta, the first match is played tomorrow in Naples. The Azzurri are defending the cup in this competition, and this season the final will be played in Milan on May 19.
