He came quietly and went into legend - Hansi Flick is leaving Bayern at the end of the season.
The coach who replaced Niko Kovac as an assistant coach in November 2019 has brought six trophies to Munich, but will not continue his job after, by all accounts, winning another Bundesliga title.
"I announced that I will terminate the contract at the end of the season," said Flick after today's 3:2 away win over Wolfsburg.
The Bavarians have seven points more than Leipzig at the top of the table.
Flick won the Champions League with Bayern last year, continued to dominate German football, but failed to defend the European crown - in the quarter-finals, he was eliminated by PSG in a close double-header.
In April last year, Flik signed a contract until 2023.
The German media have long speculated that he will succeed Joakim Lev on the bench of the national team, and that Julian Nagelsmann will take over the Bayern bench instead.
