Bellingham, the youngest footballer to play at the European Championship

England midfielder Jude Bellingham became today the youngest player to play a game at the European Championship.

The Borussia Dortmund player is 17 years and 349 days old, and he entered the game in the 82nd minute of the match between England and Croatia.

The previous youngest player, who appeared at the European Championship, was the Dutchman Jetro Willems at 18 years old.

Willems played for the Netherlands at the European Championship in 2012, in Poland and Ukraine.

England beat Croatia 1:0, thus inflicting their first defeat at the start of the European Championship.
