The young football team of Montenegro was defeated today by Italy 1:0 in the qualifiers for the European Championship.
The match in Vicenza was decided in the 53rd minute when Lorenzo Colombo shook Ivezić's net.
And after the match, coach Miodrag Vukotić said that his team was a good match against the rival, and that the young players lacked freshness.
"I think we matched Italy well. They played their typical football, they patiently waited for our mistake and they welcomed it when we reacted badly in the last line. We lacked the freshness we had in the game against Sweden four days ago. at the end of the match, we had a couple of situations where we could have threatened and maybe equalized, but we lacked energy at the very end. Now we need to turn to the next games, to learn from this defeat. It is important that the players saw that they can play with strong teams, today, above all, they lacked that better physical preparation at the end of the game," said Vukotić.
In the next round, on October 8, Montenegro visits Sweden.
