Inter and Atalanta drew in a spectacle yesterday, and that seemed to be the best prelude to the hot Roman derby.
At the "Olympic" it was bursting in all directions, in the end Lazio rejoiced - they defeated Roma (3:2) in the first city derby of the season, the first coaching match between Maurizio Sarri and Jose Mourinho in Italian football...
It was a football holiday - with many chances, skill, but also mistakes in which Lazio was simply more skillful and happier.
In the 19th minute, the "sky blues" were leading 2:0 - Sergej Milinković-Savić and Pedro Rodrigues gave the home team a big advantage.
Pedro, who played for Roma until this summer, became only the third player in history to score in the derby in the jersey of both teams.
"Vučica" did not give up when they were two goals down, but by halftime, after several chances, they reduced it with a goal by Roger Ibanez.
It was then clear that football hell would follow in the next 45 minutes.
Lazio's counterattack in the 63rd minute directed the continuation - Ćiro Imobile ran away from everyone, waited for Felipe Anderson at the second post and selflessly assisted him for 3:1.
The winner could be guessed, but even then it was not the end.
In the 69th minute, Roma came back from a penalty that was forced by Niccolo Zaniolo, and routinely realized by Jordan Veretu.
Roma had the last real chance a few minutes after the goal for 3:2 when Pepe Reina stopped Zaniol.
Lazio ended a streak of three matches without a victory, Roma recorded their second defeat of the season - just like in Verona, the result was 3:2.
Our representative Adam Marušić, who played 90 minutes for Lazio, was part of the spectacle.
