Arsenal defeated Newcastle 2:0, even if until tomorrow they are tied for fourth place in the Premier League.
After the triumph brought to him by Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, manager Mikel Arteta was clear:
"We needed this victory after the defeat against Liverpool. It was important to react," said Arteta and added:
"The key thing was to remain calm and patient. We had a rhythm and space opened up which we used. When you create chances you have to use them, and in the first half we often shot without reason," said Arteta.
Eddie Howe made his debut on the bench for Newcastle (he missed the first match due to the coronavirus), which is winless after 13 matches.
"I found a team that has a great desire to turn the season around. I can't ask for more from these guys. Momentum is crucial now, one win would probably bring a lot more than the three points," Howe said.
