Football club Salernitana is facing possible expulsion from the Italian Serie A, after no satisfactory offers for the sale of the club were submitted.
The club is owned by a consortium backed by Lazio football club president Claudio Lotito.
The Italian Football Federation has ordered a change in the ownership structure, as regulations do not allow two or more teams in the same division to have the same owner.
The consortium announced today that none of the bids received was acceptable, because the minimum requirements were not met.
The deadline for selling the club expires at the end of the year, and Salernitana asked for an extension.
After 17 games played, Salernitana has eight points in the last place of Serie A, and in the next round they welcome the current champions Inter from Milan.
