Sergio Aguero tearfully announced the end of his career yesterday, he had to retire at the age of 33 due to heart problems.
The public does not really know the story that Kun had heart surgery as a 15-year-old, and that in 2017 he collapsed in the dressing room at halftime of a friendly match between Nigeria and Argentina.
It was then determined that there were no disorders that would have forced him to end his career early.
The history of heart problems, then, is there, and now Miguel Vegas, one of the cardiologists who followed Aguero when he was a teenager, has come forward.
"Such an arrhythmia cannot develop in "ordinary" people. It is characteristic only for athletes whose body has been exposed to great efforts for years," said Vargas and added:
"Aguero has a scar on his heart, smaller than a millimeter, which causes arrhythmias. Aguero will continue to live normally, he will also be able to play sports recreationally. Professional sport is already something else, so he had to make this decision," said Vargas.
