The manager of Manchester United, Ralf Rangnik, said that the Uruguayan striker, Edinson Cavani, will stay at the club, at least until the end of the season.
Cavani joined United in 2020 from PSG, and his contract expires at the end of the season.
"Kavani is probably the player I've spoken to the most in recent weeks and he's definitely not leaving the club in January. We've spoken and he knows how much I value him and I'm certainly not going to let him go - there's no doubt that we'll need him in the team that's still participating in three competitions," said Rangnik.
The Uruguayan has played 10 games in all competitions this season and scored two goals.
"I told him the first day I came to see him as a hugely important player, probably the only one in our team who can play with his back to goal - his professionalism and work ethic is incredible."
