Pep Guardiola started setting standards in the Premier League with Manchester City a long time ago, and as things stand now, he will bring another title to the Etihad.
After the victory over Chelsea (1:0), his team has a 13-point advantage over the team from London.
"If Liverpool wins two games, it's an eight-point advantage. We are very satisfied, but we have a long way to go," said Guardiola.
City dominated against Chelsea.
"We prevented them from transitioning, and they are the strongest there, along with Liverpool. I am delighted, we were patient and calm. We beat a great team, the champions of Europe," said Guardiola with special praise for the scorer Kevin de Bruyne.
"We've been here together since day one. Everything we've done, we've done together. I want more from him because he's world class and I know he can. He's a great guy, dedicated and humble. He's won three Premier Leagues and many awards , but he remained the same. I'm proud of him, and his parents can be proud too," said Guardiola.
Thomas Tuchel, the Chelsea coach, believes that his team deserved a point.
"We had 8-9 dangerous attacks, exceptional openings, and not a single touch in front of the goal. We lacked a little precision in the finish. We didn't give them much forward, De Bruyne's mastery decided," said the German.
