Manchester United currently has a double-digit number of players who have asked to leave in the January transfer window.
Dean Henderson, Erik Baji, Donnie van de Beek... are just some of the dissatisfied, and the first to "raise his voice" was Antoni Martial.
The Frenchman announced back in December that he plans to go somewhere where he will have more minutes, at one point he was close to moving to Seville, but the problem regarding the details of the loan continued. That is why he is still at "Old Trafford", but he is far from the team.
"He refused to be in the squad for the match against Aston Villa. Normally he would have applied for the team but he didn't want to and that's the reason he didn't travel with us to Birmingham," said Red Devils manager Ralf Rangnick.
Martial immediately denied it:
"That's not true, I've never refused to play for Manchester United. I've been here for seven years and I've never once shown disrespect to anyone in and around the club," Martial said.
Martial has not been a starter in the Premier League since October 2, and since December 2 he was not even in the lineup for the duel with Arsenal.
Now he was supposed to fill in the number of reserve players (United had only six of them in the draw against Aston Villa - 2:2), but according to Rangnik, the footballer refused...
Sevilla and United negotiated for days, but the insurmountable obstacle was Martial's salary. Sevilla, who wanted the player on loan, were ready to pay half of his salary, which did not suit the giant from "Old Trafford".
There is plenty of time for Martial to leave the club until the end of January, but no offer is good enough at the moment. In addition to Sevilla, Barcelona and Newcastle also want him.
He has been at United since 2015 and has scored 268 goals in 79 games.
