The United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland plan to bid to host the European Championship in 2028, the football associations of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland have announced.
Five island confederations have abandoned plans to bid to host the 2030 World Cup and will focus on the Euros.
"We believe that the United Kingdom and Ireland can offer something special to European football in 2028, a compact and unique collaboration that will ensure an excellent experience for teams and fans," the statement reads.
Last year's European Championship was held in 11 cities in 11 countries, and the host of Euro 2024 is Germany.
