Plus 12 compared to rivals is the difference that Sutjeska could only wish for after 21 rounds of the Telekom First Montenegrin League.
The people of Nikšić scored six points in the first two rounds of the spring part of the season, and they want to continue the series today when they visit Pljevlja.
The current champion Budućnost welcomes Podgorica after the defeat by Iskra, while Danilovgrad - who also have two triumphs at the start - play another derby, their rival is Dečić...
SAVOVIĆ: TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PLJEVLJAK'S WEAKNESSES
Sutjeska defeated Rudar twice this season, and both times with many problems.
"Rudar has changed a lot compared to the first part of the season and it can be seen that he is oscillating - he lost the first game easily against Iskra, and then Dečić won away from home. I hope that we will take advantage of the weaknesses of our rivals and achieve another triumph," said coach Sutjeska Milija Savović.
Rade Petrović, Savović's former assistant near Bistrica, is now on the Rudar bench.
"There is no special preparation for this match, we didn't adapt to the opponents even in the derbies, so we won't either now. We know that Rade knows our team and our abilities very well," added Savović.
The people of Pljevlja are not in a position to threaten the leader.
"We are playing against the best team in Montenegro. In my opinion, Sutjeska is already a champion and can prepare for what awaits her in Europe. Of course, this does not mean that we have given up in advance, but that we have more motivation to match the favorite", pointed out the captain of Rudara Milija Golubović.
THE CHAMPION HAS NOT LOST MOTIVATION
Buducnost registered a win and a loss in the first two rounds of spring, that's why it is at a double-digit deficit compared to the leader.
It seems that the "blues" will hand over the crown, but the motive is always present - Aleksandar Nedović's team wants to show it today against Podgorica.
"The opponent is in a difficult situation, they are fighting for survival, but they deserve our respect. The most important thing is for us to look at ourselves, to be maximally concentrated and to reduce the mistakes we made in the last match. That's how we will return to the winning way," says the captain Vasilije Terzic.
He says about the eventual fight for the title:
"The point difference is big, but not unattainable. We have two more derbies against Sutjeska and as long as there is a mathematical chance, we will fight".
Podgorica missed a great chance in Bar (it led 2:0 until the 82nd minute, in the end 2:2), so it still has six points less than the teams in the survival zone.
"It will be difficult, as always against Budućnost. But we are working well, the approach is right and I believe that we will have more luck than in some previous matches - Podgorica defender Stefan Cicmil said.
THE BOY HAS TO BE TAKEN OUT
Dečić had great ambitions until ten days ago, and after two defeats - against Jezera and Rudar - there is talk of a crisis in Tuzi.
"We have the imperative to win against a team that is in good shape. I think we have better quality and I expect us to break the bad streak," said Dečić defender Marko Tući.
Iskra overtook Dečić in the standings, and is now tied for second place.
"Dečić is certainly motivated to come back after two defeats. This is a team designed for the very top of the table. It is up to us to be wise and patient, like against Budućnost in the first half," said Iskra coaching staff member Milivoje Novović.
Jezero continues its fight for survival with a duel with Petrovac in Berane, while Zeta against Mornar is looking for a second consecutive triumph after being better than Petrovac.
