Ronald Koeman was the coach of Barcelona during one of the most difficult periods of the Catalan club.
After much turmoil, conflict with the administration, he was finally dismissed at the end of October last year.
A few days later Barça appointed Xavi Hernandez as the new coach.
"President Đoan Laporta told him a thousand times that he will not bring Xavi because he lacks coaching experience," says the Dutchman.
He did not remain on good terms with Laporta.
"Laporta didn't bring me to the club. From the first moment he won the election, I felt we weren't on the same wavelength. Money was never important to me. I really wanted to succeed in Barcelona, to do everything in my power, but I realized that Laporta wanted to get rid of me, because he didn't hire me," Koeman added.
There are still some illogicalities, according to Kuman.
"At the insistence of the management, I agreed to sell some players in order to put the finances in order. And, then shortly after that we witness that Barcelona paid one player 55 million euros (Ferran Torres from Manchester City. All this happened shortly after they released Lionel Messi. In such circumstances, you wonder if there was something else going on that you didn't know about. You also wonder if Messi had to leave then," Koeman said.
In the end, the audience will not like him quickly at the "Nou Camp", even though he is a legend of the club.
"I can't pretend with Laporta that nothing happened," concluded the hero of Barça's first European title.
