Sead Hakšabanović left Russia at the end of last week and quickly found a new club.
The Montenegrin representative returned to Sweden and signed for Đurgarden.
The contract runs until June 30, as there is a possibility that the 22-year-old winger could return to Rubin if the war ends.
Hakšabanović took advantage of the decision of FIFA and the International Union of Football Players (FIFPRO) that players can terminate their contracts with Russian clubs, after the sanctions imposed on them due to the war in Ukraine.
"I have played against Djurgården several times and I like the way that team plays. It has always been the toughest rival in Sweden. Also, I have known coach Bose Anderson for a long time, and Djurgården has the best fans in Swedish football. It will be fun to play in front of them." Hakšabanović said.
He built his career in Sweden. He moved from Halmstad to West Ham as an 18-year-old, was on loan at Malaga, before coming to Norrkoping in 2019.
He signed for Rubin last summer in the biggest club transfer of all time, worth almost seven million euros.
The Swedish championship starts in April, and the competition in the Cup is underway. Đurgarden plays against Malmo on Sunday.
