Ten matches, nine goals - it's been a long time since someone made such a breakthrough in Montenegrin club football as Rodrigo Emilio Faust, a 26-year-old striker from Argentina.
Faust came to Jezero in early February from the Excursionistas (mountaineers, in Spanish) team from Belgran, a suburb of Buenos Aires, and from the start he started scoring goals and didn't stop. He is a candidate for the top scorer of the league, he has only two goals less than the leading Christian Vulaj.
He leads Jezero to survival, today he won against Dečić, he scored five times in the last three matches, scored the most beautiful goal in March on Montenegrin grounds.
Faust (by last name, possibly of German origin - "faust" in German means fist, and, of course, it is immediately associated with Goethe's famous poem Faust, one of the greatest pieces of literature of all time) went through the soccer school of Urakana, and had a two-year contract with first league team, but failed to fight for the status.
He played in the lower ranks of Argentina, and the lowest was the last one he played in - Primera C, which he left to join the CFL.
His performance of nine goals in the first ten matches is unprecedented on our stage, when it comes to players who appeared for the first time, even out of nowhere, in Montenegrin football.
In the second part of the 2007/08 season, Fatos Bećiraj, then anonymous from Peć, launched Budućnost towards the first title, scoring nine goals in the spring, when decisive battles for first place were being fought.
In January 2017, Serbian striker Rodoljub Paunović came to Iskra from Kolubara and with nine goals he brought survival to the citizens of Danilovgrad.
Budućnost fans remember Panajotis Moraitis, who is in the second part of the 2019/20 season. after arriving from the Greek second division Panahaiki, scored eight goals in 11 games, and the championship cup arrived in Podgorica.
However, no one was as effective as the 26-year-old "gaucho", who scores almost a goal per game, that is, on average every 93 minutes.
