Eric ten Haag is the new manager of Manchester United, the English club officially announced.
On July 1, Ten Hag will take over the Devils. He comes from Ajax, and he signed a contract for two years with an option to continue the cooperation after that.
Given that Ten Haag's contract with Ajax expires only next season, Manchester will pay the "spearmen" 1,7 million pounds for this transfer as compensation.
"It is a great honor to be the manager of Manchester United. I am very excited about the challenges ahead. I know the history of the club and the passion of the fans and I am absolutely ready to create a team that will achieve the results that Manchester deserves," said Ten Haag.
Ten Haag is the second Dutchman on the Manchester United bench. Before him, the team was led by Louis van Gaal, who succeeded David Moyes in 2014.
"It will be difficult to leave Ajax after so many incredible years. I assure the fans that I am focused on finishing this season successfully," said the Dutchman, who has been on the Ajax bench since December 2017.
Tech Hag can leave the team from Amsterdam in style, since Ajax is in first place in the table with five rounds to go and has four points more than PSV.
In November last year, Manchester United dismissed Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer and appointed Ralf Rangnik as a temporary solution.
After the end of the season, Rangnik will take over the position of director in the club.
After 33 games in the Premier League, Manchester United is in 6th place with 54 points and has three points less and a game more than Arsenal and Tottenham who are fighting for a place in the Champions League.
