Police officers arrested 14 people because of the incident that happened on Monday in Rožaje, at the soccer match between Ibar and Nikšić, the Police Administration announced.
It is stated that the police filed criminal charges against one person for the criminal offense of endangering safety, and against 13 persons for misdemeanors for violating the law on the prevention of violence and improper behavior at sports events and on public order and peace.
The police remind that during the match there was a violation of public order and peace, when the fans of FK Ibar - "Gazije" threw several pyrotechnic devices onto the field, which caused the creation of a so-called smoke screen.
"They took advantage of that moment, jumped over the protective fence and physically attacked some of the players of FK Nikšić who were given medical help after the incident, and it was concluded that five players suffered minor physical injuries," the statement said.
According to reports, police officers, by applying police powers, prevented further physical conflict and a major incident.
"EF (23), EA (24), EM (23) EM (20), IH (21), EL (29), DK (23), ARŠ. (18), AM (18), E.Š. (19), HM (25), Dž.M. (19) and IM (18) were deprived of their liberty due to offenses under the Law on Prevention of Violence and Misbehavior at Sports Events, while a report was filed against Dž.M. and IM for violations under the Law on public order and peace," the statement said.
It is stated that the competent state prosecutor is aware of the event, on whose order the notifications from those persons were collected.
"A criminal complaint was filed against MN (30) and he was detained on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of endangering security," the statement said.
As the police said, members of the Rožaje Security Department are undertaking activities to identify and locate other potential perpetrators of misdemeanors and crimes.
"As well as the activities in the part of determining the responsibility of FC Ibar, as the organizer of the sports event in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Violence and Misbehavior at Sports Events, about which the public will be informed in a timely manner," the announcement says.
