The young football team of Montenegro suffered yet another defeat, the fifth in total, in the qualifiers for the European Championship.
The last in the series in Dublin - Miodrag Vukotić's team lost to the Republic of Ireland with a score of 3:1.
It was a match of absolute dominance by the hosts, while our selection made a slightly better impression in the second half.
After several chances, the Irish took the lead in the 40th minute when William Smallbone shook Nikola Ivezić's net with a shot from twenty meters.
The second half started with a goal from Nikola Krstović already in the 48th minute, and in the 57th minute it became clear that Montenegro was "sliding" into defeat.
Liam Kerrigan took advantage of the chaotic reaction of the "falcon" defense and scored an easy 2:0.
After that, Ireland had a few more chances, they used only one (Tajrik Wright in the 67th), and the only goal for the Montenegrin team was scored by Viktor Djukanović in the 76th when he routinely shook the net.
Montenegro is fifth in the table in group F, it has long since lost all chances to fight for the top.
He will play his last match on Friday in Podgorica when he welcomes Luxembourg.
