He had to leave his club at the time, Inter, because the medical rules of the Italian Serie A do not allow the use of the mentioned device.
Four months after doing what many suspected was his return to football, Eriksen could return to the biggest stage possible - and there is hardly a bigger one than Old Trafford, the popular Tetra of Dreams.

It was believed that the 30-year-old would prefer to stay in London, after a successful mission at Brentford, and there was also talk of a return to Tottenham, the club where he made his name and which he left in the summer of 2020 to join Inter.
"Our door is always open to him," said Tottenham coach Antonio Conte, who coached Eriksen at Inter.
Since no agreement was reached with any (London) club, the option of moving to Manchester United became the most common.
The new coach of the "red devils" Erik ten Haag has marked the bringing of the Dutch midfielder from Barcelona, Frenkie de Jong, as a priority in the summer transfer window, but with or without him - Eriksen could be a very interesting option.
