Manchester United reached an agreement with Barcelona on the transfer of midfielder Frenkie de Jong to "Old Trafford", British media reported.
As reported by the BBC, United will pay more than 65 million euros for the transfer, as well as certain bonuses.
The transfer is not complete as there are still some issues that need to be resolved, but everything is going in the right direction regarding the 25-year-old Dutchman's arrival at Old Trafford, sources said.
Manchester United did not bring in any players in the summer transfer window, and new coach Erik ten Haag led a team composed of players who did not play for their national teams this month in training on Monday.
The Manchester United team will go on a pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia on July 8. Ten Haag wants De Jong to be in the team by then, although no deadline has been set for the transfer.
