Pale 90 minutes, without a real opportunity, without creativity and concrete action in the attack, without a goal scored - Sutjeska did not show much in the first match of the second round of qualification for the Conference League against Klaksvik and with a 0:0 goes to the rematch, which is next Wednesday at Farski Islands.
The Montenegrin champion can be satisfied with the result, because Farani had better chances - near the end of the first half, Vladan Giljen excelled at Andreasen's shot, and then in the 95th minute, the same player hit the crossbar. The guests, without a doubt, left a better impression, they were much closer to triumph at the DG Arena.
In any case, before the rematch in the Faroe Islands, it cannot be said that Sutjeska is the favorite. It wasn't even before Podgorica's 90 minutes, but there was hope that the team could gain stock before the rematch with a more offensive, braver approach.
- We played a bad game. It wasn't our night. But we should not grieve and succumb to pressure, the result is still active - Sutjeska midfielder Novica Eraković told "Vijesti".
Sutjeska did not score a goal in 270 minutes of European football, but did not threaten the opponents, except for moments (Vuk Striković hit the crossbar in the second leg against Ludogorets, the same player had a great chance two nights ago). If the result against the Bulgarians is realistic, then it was to be expected that the network of Faran would be shaken at least once and that the team would build solid capital before the rematch.
Eraković believes that Nikšić's "blues" can go to the next round. The coach Milija Savović was of the same opinion, who said after the match that he believes in reaching the 3rd round.
- We are going to the Faroe Islands with one goal - to advance to the next round. The opponent defended well at the "DG Arena", we did not manage to break the resistance of Klaksvik in the first match, which does not mean that we will not in the Faroe Islands - believes the midfielder from Nikšić.
The rival, however, is now closer to passing, although he does not have any advantage before the rematch.
- You can see that Klaksvik is a good team. Farani are disciplined, in the championship they are at the top of the table, after 15 rounds they have 14 wins and a draw. They are not a team to be underestimated - Eraković is careful.
Between the two matches with Klaksvik, the Montenegrin champion starts defending the title. The Meridianbet Montenegrin football league starts tomorrow, and Sutjeska will play Jedinstva at the start in Bijelo Polje.
- I think that on the Faroe Islands we could have more space for counterattacks, because in Podgorica we are conditioned to attack and win. This team has the quality to play on the counter. We will have to defend a lot of breaks, they are dangerous and when they take outs, we will have to react quickly. I believe that we have the quality to deal with everything - Milija Savović, coach of Sutjeska, said after the match with Klaksvik.
